Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an organized line of severe thunderstorms that will move across highway 16 between Burns Lake and Prince George in about an hour, the agency said in an alert issued at 4:30 p.m.

"These thunderstorms are capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain," the agency said.

"Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!"
