Small explosion at local YMCA

There was a report of an explosion at the YMCA of Northern B.C. at about 10:08 this morning. The Prince George Fire Rescue responded with 16 firefighters from three halls to find the building had been evacuated and there were no signs of fire.

There was a report of an explosion at the YMCA of Northern B.C. at about 10:08 this morning.

The Prince George Fire Rescue responded with 16 firefighters from three halls to find the building had been evacuated and there were no signs of fire.

When fire crews entered the building they found a small explosion occurred in the maintenance room with one of the sprinkler heads activated.

There was no fire and no injuries to anyone.

There is no estimate of loss at this time.

The incident is currently under investigation and it is not considered suspicious in nature.
