RCMP are investigating a drive-by shots fired incident in Quesnel.

Police were called to an Allard Street home Thursday at about 5:30 a.m. and shortly after a small dark-coloured vehicle suspected to have been used to carry out the action was found on Skyline Drive in flames.

A forensic identification unit and police dog and handler were called in from Prince George and both scenes have been secured, RCMP said.

The shots were fired into the house.

"Luckily no one inside the home or in the neighbouring homes were injured," said Sgt. Chris Riddle. "We take this type of criminal act very seriously and have dedicated all available resources to investigate this disturbing incident.

"We hope that anyone with information about this crime will do the right thing and come forward to help us solve this case."

Anyone with information on the incident who has not already spoken with the police is asked to call the Quesnel RCMP Detachment at (250) 992-9211 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
