Environment Canada has renewed a warning for a severe thunderstorm south of Prince George.

Meteorologists are tracking a thunderstorm storm "capable of producing strong wind gusts and up to penny size hail," Environment Canada said in the warning issued at about 4:30 p.m.

"Doppler radar indicates that a line of strong thunderstorm has developed producing extreme damaging wind gusting to 90 km/h about 25 km southwest of Prince George.

"The line of strong thunderstorms is moving eastward and will affect communities along Highway 97 south of Prince George within one hour."

The agency issued a similar warning shortly before 10 a.m. today and called it off about four hours later.
