Intimidated by your teacher? Try running with them.

That's the basic idea behind the Dream Hunters Walk and Run group - the brainchild of the Aboriginal Resource Centre at the College of New Caledonia.

It partners students with faculty and staff with a goal of "improving health and wellness and developing reciprocal relationships."

The project launched last spring and is up and running again this fall, with students picking one of four weekly time slots for the friendly meet-ups with faculty, staff and support services.

"Running for me is very therapeutic and stress relieving," said CNC student Vanessa Vandelaar in the release. "Not only does it promote my health, but I have time to clear my thoughts and not think about my studies. When I have a clear mind after my run, I can focus better on my studies."

Students can use new equipment (like running shoes), a personal trainer, and health seminars.

The project is funded through Northern Health's Imagine Legacy Grant, a project of the 2015 Canada Winter Games.
