Prince George RCMP will be offering several opportunities for people to register their bikes with the detachment's anti-theft program.

Volunteers with 529 Garage will be out this Saturday on McIntyre Crescent for that neigbhourhood's safety day at noon and 2 p.m.

On Wednesday, they will be at the Otway Nordic Centre at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and at CN Centre on Sunday, June 24, 9 a.m. and noon.

And for the second year in a row, the Prince George RCMP will be raffling off a 2018 Norco Storm mountain bike. Bike owners get one entry for each bike they register. Draw date will be at the end of September.

Registering with 529 Garage takes about five minutes and owners are asked to provide essential bike information including ownership details, serial number and photos.

If a theft occurs, the information can easily be distributed to other registered riders via an alert feature on the smart phone app.

The information can also be forwarded to police and insurance companies.
