The Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society is looking to add to the network of organizations involved in the Local Immigration Partnership project now in its second year.

"We're looking for any individual, business or community group that wants to learn about the resources and support available for integrating immigrants and newcomers into their organization," said Laurie Dillman, employment counsellor at the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society.

This is a resource sharing group and the model is used in many communities throughout Canada, which is funded by the federal government, Dillman added.

"It's about building capacity for organizations," said Dillman.

"We are planning to grow the network so it becomes more broad-based," said Thompson Ayodele, Local Immigration Partnership liaison.

"The ultimate goal is to let the committee be more inclusive so that newcomers will be properly integrated into the community, be able to find a job and go on with their life. Newcomers will be able to connect with various organizations that will be helpful to them."

There are 17 active members in the partnership and 84 in total.

About 100 organizations, individuals, businesses or community groups are being sought.
