To conserve and enhance fish and wildlife affected by BC Hydro dams the Fish & Wildlife Compensation Program is now accepting grant applications for those groups looking to sustain fish and wildlife in the Williston and Dinosaur watersheds within the Peace Region.

The program is a partnership between BC Hydro, the province of B.C., Fisheries and Oceans Canada, First Nations and public stakeholders, said a recent news release.

"We fund hands-on and research-based projects that align with our action plans," said Dan Bouillon, FWCP Peace Region manager. "Our action plans reflect local conservation priorities and guide our strategic funding decisions."

To find out more about applying for a grant visit fwcp.ca for information about action plans as well as the Notice of Intent form that's due by Sept. 21. Online grant application deadline is Oct. 28.
