Police search for armed robber

A man intent on stealing a basket of meat turned a knife on a store employee Tuesday night. Prince George RCMP have released a photo of the suspect wanted in connection with the attempted armed robbery at Save-On Foods in downtown Prince George.

Police have provided surveillance footage of a man in connection with an armed robbery.

A man intent on stealing a basket of meat turned a knife on a store employee Tuesday night.

Prince George RCMP have released a photo of the suspect wanted in connection with the attempted armed robbery at Save-On Foods in downtown Prince George.

An employee said when confronted, the man pulled a knife.

"The suspect dropped the basket and fled on foot with a waiting adult female towards downtown Prince George," the release said, noting the worker was not injured.

Police said the call came in at around 9:30 p.m. from the store, located at 15th Avenue and Victoria Street.

Police describe the suspect as:

  • First Nations male
  • 168 cm (5'6")
  • 82 kg (180 lbs)
  • Shaved head
  • Wearing red knee length athletic shorts, black t-thirt and a black long sleeve zip sweater
