Pedestrian killed in Quesnel

A 38-year-old man died in hospital Friday from injuries suffered when he was hit by a vehicle in Quesnel. A -35-year-old woman who was also struck at the corner of Front Street and Carson Avenue was treated for minor injuries. Both were pedestrians.

A 38-year-old man died in hospital Friday from injuries suffered when he was hit by a vehicle in Quesnel.

A -35-year-old woman who was also struck at the corner of Front Street and Carson Avenue was treated for minor injuries. Both were pedestrians.

Police were called to the scene at 7:10 a.m. and the scene was closed for several hours as investigators gathered evidence.

The vehicle's driver remained on scene. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision, Quesnel RCMP said.

The man's name was not released.

Anyone witnessed this collision and has not already spoken to the Quesnel RCMP is asked to call the detachment at 250-992-9211.
