The North 400, an 18-hour bicycle trek last Friday from Jasper to Prince George, raised more than $15,000 for pediatric cancer research.

The 17 rider left Jasper at 4 a.m., stopped at Cafe Mt. Robson at 8 a.m., for breakfast, the McBride Farmers Market at noon and Purden Resort at about 6 p.m. before reaching Veterans Plaza in front of Prince George City Hall at about 10:30 that night.

"The ride went really well and we have exceeded our goal to raise $15,000 and we'll probably be closer to $16,000 which we're really, really happy about," said Erin Reynolds, annual giving coordinator for the northern region Canadian Cancer Society, BC and Yukon Division. "Everyone was in great spirits during the ride and nobody got hurt - so that's always good news. The support we get on the road is great and is always appreciated and this kind of event doesn't happen without that kind of support."
