A public hearing will be held during Monday night's city council meeting for a proposal to build a three-storey, nine unit apartment building at 1694-7th Ave.

So far, the city has received two letters of opposition. They raise concerns about the impact on the view for nearby homeowners, increasing density in the neighbourhood and the possibility of an absentee landlord.

One letter of support has also been received, although it was stressed that the building's look should maintain as much as possible the heritage characteristics and aesthetics of the Crescents neighbourhood.

- A public hearing will also be held for a proposal to close an unconstructed pathway through Rustad Park so the land can be sold to the adjacent property owners in order to rectify a utility encroachment. The sale price is $30,000, considered to be the market value, according to a staff report.

The public hearing portion of the meeting begins at 7 p.m.
