The National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls will be in Prince George next week.

It will run for three days, starting Monday at the Civic Centre with the opening and closing ceremonies open to the public.

The inquiry's intent is to examine and report on the systemic causes of all forms of violence against Indigenous women and girls and LGBTQ2S people in Canada by looking at patterns and underlying factors.

It is touring the country collecting statements from victims' friends and family which will be given behind closed doors.

Family members who wish to speak at the inquiry are asked to contact Perry Kerrigan at 778-238-6876 or email at p.kerrigan@mmiwg-ffada.ca

Walk-in statement gathering will be available. An MMIWG commissioner will not be present in the room, but the audio and video collected will be reviewed by them.
