McGill remains on Forest Practices Board

A UNBC professor has been reappointed to the Forest Practices Board. Dr. William B. McGill will serve another two-year term, Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Minister Steve Thomson said Tuesday.

A UNBC professor has been reappointed to the Forest Practices Board.

Dr. William B. McGill will serve another two-year term, Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Minister Steve Thomson said Tuesday.

McGill is a professor of ecosystem science and management at UNBC. His credentials include over 40 years of academic experience, 23 of them as a department chair, associate dean and dean.

In addition, he is a founding board member of the Haida Gwaii Higher Education Society, the vice chair of the Resources North Association, and is vice president of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce.

Ralph Archibald, a retired biologist and former assistant deputy minister of environmental stewardship in the B.C. Ministry of Environment was also reappointed for two more years.

The Forest Practices Board acts as B.C.'s independent watchdog for sound forest and range practices, reporting its findings and recommendations directly to the public and government.
