Man stabbed to death

Police in Prince George are now investigating the violent death of a local man. Efforts at the University Hospital of Northern B.C. to save the life of a stabbing victim were unsuccessful, Wednesday afternoon, turning the case into a homicide.

Police in Prince George are now investigating the violent death of a local man.

Efforts at the University Hospital of Northern B.C. to save the life of a stabbing victim were unsuccessful, Wednesday afternoon, turning the case into a

homicide.

RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass said "Police are appealing to the public to provide information after a 46-year-old Prince George man died in hospital following an apparent stabbing earlier this afternoon."

Police were first called to the area of Vancouver Street and 11th Avenue at 3:05 p.m. to respond to the situation. BC Ambulance Service paramedics attempted to stabilize the victim who had life-threatening injuries when authorities arrived.

Just before 7 p.m. police confirmed the man had died of his injuries.

"The man later died in hospital as a result of injuries he sustained," said Douglass. "The person or persons responsible have not yet been located."

The circumstances leading to the man's injuries were not known.
