A 28-year-old Prince George man was sentenced Thursday to jail a day after he was found in possession of a stolen dirt bike and body armour.

Devin Albert Olson was sentenced to 87 days for possession of stolen property under $5,000 and to two months for possession of body armour without a permit.

He was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a North District RCMP traffic services members spotted Olson on the dirt bike on the east side of the Yellowhead bridge.

The bike was in the back of a pickup truck reported stolen from a Sanderson Road home, off Westwood Drive on Tuesday, RCMP said.

Olson is well known to the police and the courts. He was last in the news in January when he made off with a large-screen television from the Canadian Tire, pulling a knife on staff in the process.

With the help of a service dog and a helicopter, Olson was apprehended about 40 minutes later.

A College Heights resident found the TV underneath his pickup truck and returned it to Canadian Tire the next day.

Olson, who remained in custody following the arrest, was sentenced in May to 81 days in jail and two years probation for the theft.
