Man charged in gas station holdup

A dozen charges have been approved against an Edmonton man arrested shortly after an armed robbery of a gas station last week.

Among the counts Lonnie Maurice Whiskeyjack, 33, faces are one count each of using a firearm in a robbery and pointing a firearm from the Nov. 14 incident at 20th and Queensway.

Called to the scene at 5:45 a.m., RCMP arrested a man after cash, lottery tickets and a replica handgun matching descriptions given to police were located in his vehicle during a stop.

Whiskeyjack remained in custody as of Wednesday.
