Rodney Alexander Courtoreille faces charges after allegedly pulling a knife on an employee at the Parkwood Save On earlier this week.

Charges have been approved against a 27-year-old Prince George man following the robbery of a supermarket in the city on Tuesday.

Rodney Alexander Courtoreille faces one count each of robbery and theft $5,000 or under and two counts of breach of an undertaking or recognizance.

Courtoreille is alleged to have attempted to steal a basket of meat from the Parkwood Save On and pulled a knife on an employee who confronted him. He dropped the basket and fled on foot with a woman who was waiting for him, RCMP had said.

An image of Courtoreille from one of the store's security cameras was subsequently made public and he was arrested Thursday.

"Police would like to thank the members of the public that provided information to police," RCMP said in a press release.

A charge of theft $5,000 or under has also been approved against Cathy Stephanie Wilson, 26, but she remains at large.

Courtoreille, who is also scheduled to go to trial in June on charges of assault with a weapon and uttering threats, remained in custody as of Friday morning.

No one was injured in the incident.
