Grownups deserve play-dates, too.

On Sept. 30, local adults get their own night at the museum. Perhaps the artifacts and figures aren't going to spring to life like they did in the movies, but there will be some paranormal fun on the schedule.

"Let your undead soul discover, investigate, and explore during an adult night out at The Exploration Place," said the facility's CEO Tracy Calogheros. "We encourage you to come dressed for our undead theme and enjoy a licensed bar and light snacks in the company of other adults. Play some skill testing games and enter to win prizes."

Tickets are $30 (plus tax/service fees), and the cost of playing the games is $2 each turn or unlimited playing for $10. There will also be a coat check by donation and a cash bar (one free drink for those arriving between 6:45-7:45 p.m.), and an array of activities included in the ticket price, like a live DJ, light snacks, live science demos, and more. The special feature on the menu is the acclaimed travelling exhibition called Echoes In The Ice - Finding Franklin's Ship and the Story of the Ill-fated Search for the Northwest Passage.

"Prizes are awarded to the game winners," said Calogheros. "We will also be doing some draws with the games tickets near the end of the evening, so hang onto those game tickets."

The main prize sponsors include Via Rail, Two Rivers Art Gallery, Theatre NorthWest and others.

"All proceeds support The Exploration Place, a northern B.C. non-profit organization and registered charity whose mission is to preserve our local history and foster lifelong learning in the areas of science, technology and history," Calogheros said.
