Long-serving Regional District of Fraser-Fort George chairperson Art Kaehn will remain in the post after being reelected by the district board.

Long-serving Regional District of Fraser-Fort George chairperson Art Kaehn was returned to the position without facing any challengers on Thursday.

Regional district boards are required to elect a chairperson and vice-chairperson from among the directors in the first meeting in November every year. Kaehn, who was first elected chairperson in 2006, was reelected by acclamation.

Kaehn is the director for Electoral Area E (Woodpecker-Hixon).

"Thank you. It's been a great working with you and the rest of the board," Kaehn said following his nomination.

Longtime Area G (Crooked River-Parsnip) director Terry Burgess was the sole nominee for the position of vice-chairperson.

"I'd like to thank the board for the nomination to vice-chair for my last year in office," Burgess said. "I've made it clear I'm not running again. I'll be way too old to be sitting in this chair."

The board also approved its meeting schedule for 2018, which can be found online at pgc.cc/2j0g6tb, including scheduled budget meeting slated for January and February.
