A woman arrested during a drugs and weapons bust on a College Heights home has been sentenced to a further 20 months in jail in relation to convictions from the incident.

Chasity Michelle Reed, 33, was issued a total term of three-and-a-half years in jail but received credit for 22 months time served when sentenced Monday in Prince George provincial court.

Reed received the mandatory minimum of three years for a loaded .357 Magnum handgun police found in a dresser drawer of her bedroom.

RCMP later determined it was among a number of guns that had been stolen from the mother-in-law of now-dead gangster Joey Arrance, the court was told.

Reed also received terms of six months for theft of electricity and for improper storage of a .22 calibre rifle found in an upstairs seedling room, both consecutive to the sentence for the handgun.

Seven other firearms counts were stayed as was one count each of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and production of a controlled substance.

Reed was arrested Sept. 6, 2013 when police executed a search warrant on a 6184 Trent Dr. home and James Archibald Webb, 44, who had been sharing the rental home, was apprehended a few days later.

Police uncovered a small marijuana grow operation of about 20 plants plus equipment to make marijuana oil. They also found a rifle leaning against a wall just inside the door of an outbuilding. Moreover, the property backed onto College Heights secondary school.

In March, Webb was sentenced to eight months house arrest and 18 months probation after pleading guilty to three firearms-related charges and one count of fraudulent consumption of electricity.

Reed was also sentenced to a consecutive term of 75 days for giving police a false name after she was pulled over for driving without due care and to a further consecutive term of 60 days for shoplifting about $800 worth of items from a local retailer.

As a result, Reed must serve a total of 23.5 more months in jail.
