Hampole skates to Games bronze

Prince George figure skater Justin Hampole won a bronze medal at the Canada Winter Games on Wednesday. Hampole, a 13-year-old who trains at the Northern B.C.

Prince George figure skater Justin Hampole won a bronze medal at the Canada Winter Games on Wednesday.

Hampole, a 13-year-old who trains at the Northern B.C. Centre for Skating, ended up in third place after his score from his Wednesday free skate was combined with his point total from his Monday short program. His overall total was 91.88, which placed him behind gold-medalist Stephen Gogolev of Ontario (114.04) and silver-medalist Samuel Turcotte of Quebec (93.51).

The competition was held at Lakewood Dental Arena.
