Trouble along Highway 16 West has continued to pile up.

What RCMP described as a "chain-reaction" collision involving an SUV, a pickup truck and two logging trucks occurred shortly after midnight Friday and sent on person to hospital with serious injuries.

It also forced closure of the scene 15 kilometres west of Prince George for about 7 1/2 hours.

It was the second serious incident in the area less than 24 hours.

One person was killed and two others were sent to hospital following a two-vehicle collision early Thursday afternoon at the Chilako Bridge, 20 kilometres west of the city.

The scene was closed until shortly before 7 p.m. to allow investigators to gather evidence although there was a detour around the location.

There was also an incident 38 kilometres east of Vanderhoof on Thursday afternoon that reduced travel to single-lane alternating for a period.
