Firefighters will be honing their skills at the training facility near the Prince George Airport on Wednesday and Thursday.

The fires they're fighting could produce dark smoke but it's nothing to worry about, according to the Prince George Airport Authority.

"These fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and are part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certification," the agency said in a statement.

It's asking residents to refrain from calling emergency services if they see smoke coming from the location.

The training will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
