Duffy shouldn’t return, poll says

It looks like readers who participated in the last poll think there needs to be more accountability when is comes to members of the Senate.

The Citizen poll asked "Since Mike Duffy was acquitted of all charges, should he be allowed to return to the Senate?"

"No, the Senate needs to do a much better job with accountability" took 52 per cent of the votes for a total of 224. A distant second was "Yes, he was simply the fall guy for staff at the Prime Minister's Office under Stephen Harper" with 21 per cent of the vote for a total of 92 votes. A close third was "No, just because he didn't break the law doesn't mean he shouldn't be fired" with 19 per cent and a total of 81 votes. And trailing behind was "Yes, senators should not take orders from the Prime Minister or the House" with seven per cent and 31 votes.

There was a total of 428 votes.

The next question The Citizen poll asks is, "Should allegiance to the Queen be a mandatory part of the oath for new Canadian citizens?"
