Crash knocks out power to Vanderhoof

Power was knocked out for roughly 4,600 customers in Vanderhoof when a vehicle crashed into a power pole early Monday morning.

Power was knocked out for roughly 4,600 customers in Vanderhoof when a vehicle crashed into a power pole early Monday morning.

The driver and only occupant was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following the collision, which occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on Highway 16 at First Avenue.

Power to the community 100 kilometres west of Prince George was restored by noon but schools were closed for the day.

Police were continuing to investigate the crash as of the early afternoon.
