College Heights crime spree results in jail time

A crime spree in College Heights earlier this month has resulted in a 120-day jail term for a Prince George man. Kyler Gregor Stevens, 19, must also serve 18 months probation under the sentence issued Tuesday in Prince George provincial court.

A crime spree in College Heights earlier this month has resulted in a 120-day jail term for a Prince George man.

Kyler Gregor Stevens, 19, must also serve 18 months probation under the sentence issued Tuesday in Prince George provincial court.

Stevens was arrested during the early morning hours of July 4 after RCMP saw him breaking into vehicles on Gladstone Drive in lower College Heights.

Police said several items were found on Stevens, including a collapsible baton, four pairs of sunglasses, three cell phones and a number of tools believed to have been used to carry out the thefts.

He was sentenced on one count each of theft $5,000 or under, possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of a break-in instrument, possessing weapon for dangerous purpose, breach of probation and breach of an undertaking or recognizance.

Stevens, who has remained in custody since his arrest, was also sentenced to 41 days in jail for theft of a motor vehicle from a June 6 incident. Stevens was also ordered to pay $700 in victim surcharges.
