Residents looking for discounted radon test kits will have to wait until the end of the week after the first batch was quickly snapped up at city hall.

Kits went on sale Monday morning at the Service Centre for $16 as part of Radon Aware Month, aimed to helping homeowners educating themselves about the effects of the naturally occurring odourless and colourless gas.

According to the city, all 100 kits purchased by the municipality sold out and another 100 are on order and expected to arrive by the end of the week.

Kits are also available (at full price) through Northern Health's Public Health Protection Office on the fourth floor of the Prince George Native Friendship Centre and online at radonaware.ca.
