Kenneth Jim John, a 35-year-old Prince George man originally from Fort St. James, is facing two counts of kidnapping, assault and obstructing a peace officer following two incidents in two different parks Tuesday morning.
The first call to police was to report a man and woman fighting and the man assaulting the woman in a playground near 12th and Harper Street.
When police arrived, the man fled through a baseball field where he was caught by police and arrested.
Shortly before that, police received another report about an attempted abduction at Eighth Avenue and Gillett Street, just a few blocks away, when the man grabbed a young boy who was with his mother. The woman managed to get her son back and run home where she called police to report the attack.
These investigations are continuing.
Anyone who witnessed these incidents and anyone with surveillance video is asked to call police at 250-561-3300.
