Local lady Celinea Scofield is this year’s Sweetheart Bridal Magazine cover girl. The magazine is one of the features of this weekend’s Sweetheart Bridal Show at the Civic Centre.

Brides and grooms can walk the aisles of the Sweetheart Bridal Show before they ever have to walk down "that" aisle. Even if you aren't engaged, you were once one of those people or you one day might be, so come out this weekend and pull back the veil.

"The highlight of the event is the fashion show, that's what makes people ooo and awww, I can't wait to see what this year's gowns are going to look like," said Norm Coyne, the event's coordinator for Citizen Special Events. "You will also get a chance for some up-close tips on cake decorating with a workshop by Bites Of Bliss, and all the exhibitors around the Civic Centre are incredible. They can set you up with absolutely everything you need for a stellar wedding, and it's fun to just take it all in and dream."

There are a number of prizes available just for coming through the doors. Bring your sense of wonder and romance, and you might just leave with a week-long stay at an oceanview resort in Hawaii, or custom designed wedding bands by Ken's Goldsmithing, kitchen appliances from The Bay, or perhaps the Hell Yeah Prince George partner prize: the ultimate stagette party (limo, spa treatment, dinner out, VIP clubbing, etc.).

"Everyone who comes to the bridal show gets a copy of the Sweetheart Bridal Magazine and we are really excited to show people because the cover girl is a local bride-to-be, Celinea Scofield," said Coyne. "We ran a contest for that through our Sweetheart Bridal Show page on Facebook and we are happy for Celinea. You'll love it when you see it."

The event happens Saturday at the Civic Centre between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets are $20 with a portion of each ticket sale going to the Prince George Dress Dreams initiative providing formal wear to youth with financial challenges when they have special occasions like prom.

Tickets to the bridal showcase are available at the Prince George Citizen, Ken's Goldsmithing, The Gallery Bridal Boutique, Image In White and online at eventbrite.com.
