After making a splash with a $25,000 donation to Prince George’s local college, a B.C. contracting association presented its plans for the region to city council.

“We’re investing in the city and we’re really excited to be here,” said Mike Davis, vice president president regional initiatives for the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association of BC (ICBA).

He and Gord Stewart, president, presented to city council at its Monday meeting.

ICBA opened up a Prince George office in November and last month joined the city’s economic development committee.

Mayor Lyn Hall praised the donation to the College of New Caledonia, announced Monday.

“It’s just going to do wonders for CNC,” says Hall and support trades courses.

The donation will be used for technology advancements in the Canfor Technical Centre and a five-year naming rights for a room in the college.

Davis said the group represents 1,200 members across the province and has already been active in the region for its members, pointing to recent truck rallies last week.
