Avalanche hazards have prompted highway closures along Highway 93 in both B.C. and Alberta.

Several closures, such as the Highway 93 route through Jasper National Park, are anticipated to extend until Saturday afternoon.

The affected areas include Highway 93 North from Lake Louise to Jasper, Highway 1 from Lake Louise to Sicamous, including Rogers Pass through Glacier National Park, and Highway 93 South through Kootenay National Park. Due to heavy snowfall, all areas are experiencing both short and long term closures.
