Four people were arrested Saturday in connection with an investigation into drug trafficking that originated in Prince George.

Drugs believed to be cocaine and heroin as well as cash, firearms, body armour and vehicles as RCMP executed search warrants in Prince George, Richmond and Chilliwack.

"Police believe these individuals were responsible for supplying cocaine at the kilogram level in Chilliwack and Prince George," RCMP said in a statement issued Wednesday.

The arrests and seizures stemmed from an ongoing investigation that began 14 months ago.

"During the course of their investigation, police gathered evidence which led them to expand their investigation beyond the Prince George area and into the Lower Mainland," RCMP said.

The names of the four, who have since been released from custody, were not provided.

Investigators will be preparing a report for federal Crown, which is responsible for laying charges.

Once charges have been sworn, additional details will be released, RCMP said.
