An angel investor is flapping his business wings in Prince George this weekend.

Randy Thompson is CEO of VA Angels and he is Start Up Canada's Prairie Angel of the Year. He arrived on Friday for a seminar on how to grow a business through sales and methods of expanding a business sustainably.

Today he is having one-on-one meetings with local entrepreneurs. From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. he will hear Dragon's Den-style presentations from local product and service providers as a friendly ear to hone these entrepreneurs' boardroom or elevator pitches. This happens at the Community Futures Development Corporation's training room (1566 7th Avenue).

After this event, Thompson will hold a coffee talk at Coach's Corner Pub at the Ramada Hotel hosted by the Innovation Central Society.

"ICS is hosting (Thompson) at a round table opportunity to ask the real deal your real questions. Come out and pick Randy's brain and get some of your questions answered," said ICS spokesperson Marja Sheare. This availability happens from 3-5 p.m.

ICS has brought Thompson here in the recent past for similar meetings with aspiring entrepreneurs, startup businesses, or those striving to take their venture to the next level.

"Since I've been coming to Prince George (since) October, I've been really impressed with the calibre and quality in the P.G. tech community," Thompson said. "It was something I wasn't expecting. I look forward to meeting more eager entrepreneurs."

Sheare asks that, if possible, you give notice of your intention to attend by calling 250-562-5622 ext 108 or emailing marja@innovationcentral.ca.
