The air quality advisory for Prince George will remain in effect for at least another day.

Three days after it was first issued due to high concentrations of fine particulate matter, the Ministry of Environment said it was still in place as of Friday afternoon.

Persons with chronic underlying medical conditions should postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted.

Staying indoors and in air conditioned spaces helps to reduce fine particulate exposure.

Exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes, and lung or heart disease.

The coldsnap, meanwhile, is expected to ease by Sunday, when the daytime high is expected to reach - 1 C, according to Environment Canada. Snowfall is also in the forecast.
