On May 30, the Groop Gallery will be hosting Ekphrasis II. This is the encore to the popular first edition, pairing visual artists with literary artists. The poets at this event include Rob Budde, Daniel Gallant, Lisa Haslett, Theresa Healy, Joy Chelsea, Barb Coupe, Al Rempel, Adrienne Fitzpatrick, Justin Foster, Si Transken, Jeremy Stewart and Jill Wigmore.

The African Children's Choir returns to Prince George on July 25. Their rousing choral voice and inspirational story takes them all over the world raising funds and awareness for important causes on the African continent. They have been a popular attraction in previous P.G. appearances.

Their performance here will be at the Evangelical Free Church (4590 5th Ave.) at 7 p.m.

Three Doors Down brings their acoustic show to CN Cente on June 2. They have sold more than 16 million albums worldwide, garnered three Grammy nominations, two American Music Awards, and five BMI Pop Awards before changing up their hit list with an unplugged interpretation of their material. They brought us hits One Light, Kryptonite, When I'm Gone, Here Without You, and more. Tickets are $20 or less (plus service charges) until May 25, then go up.

Prince George's own Gary Fjellgaard is returning to his hometown. The country-folk balladeer has been one of Canada's musical treasures and he continues to produce new, evocative roots music.

He is a Juno Award winner, was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, and always remembers where his career was launched. He will be at Art Space on June 6 at 8 p.m.

Scott Woods brings his Old Time Jubilee to Prince George on June 6. This internationally recognized fiddle champion and entertainer presents his unique tribute to Canadian music and television legend Don Messer.

The show features old-time fiddling, step dancing, trick fiddling, family-friendly humour and the spirit of Messer that once beamed from the CBC into homes around the nation during the black-and-white era.

The show happens at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at 7 p.m.

Monsters on wheels will be at CN Centre on May 31 for a 1:30 p.m. matinee and a 7:30 p.m. evening encore.

The Monster X Tour features epic machines like Bigfoot, Rockstar, California Kid, and Mega Merc plus an exciting slate of thrill acts. Ronnie McDowell brings his band to the Civic Centre on June 8. The urban country crooner has launched million-seller singles like The King Is Gone (a 1977 megahit tribute to Elvis Presley), Watching Girls Go By, and many other radio riders. He did duets with icons like Conway Twitty and Jerry Lee Lewis. He toured with the biggest names in country music history. He was the singer for all the songs in the movie Elvis with Kurt Russell in the lead role. Now he comes to Prince George.
