Northern Fancon organizers just eclipsed their vampire dreams. The Twilight saga will dawn on the Prince George pop culture extravaganza when actor Justin Rain appears out of the mist.

Rain, a Plains Cree actor from Vancouver, played the role of Warrior in Twilight Eclipse and television fans will also know him as the recurring character Quentin McCawley on the show Defiance or the recurring character Alan Fraser on Blackstone.

He and fellow Blackstone alum Steven Cree Molison of Prince George are co-starring in the upcoming movie On Savage Ground.

"We are especially excited to have Justin coming to Fancon because he is also going to be teaching an acting workshop right there at the Fancon event, that Sunday, so you get to experience this man's talent in a different way," said co-organizer James Matosevic.

Anyone interested in taking the workshop is encouraged to end an email inquiry to jmatosevic@pgcitizen.ca.

Rain got his first training after graduating high school. He worked with the East Vancouver Urban Native Theatre Company for three years before beginning formal study at the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts, William Davis Centre, and Second Avenue Studios among others throughout Greater Vancouver.

Dedicated to both stage and screen roles, he has also branched into multimedia art and professional public speaking.

His performance in the feature film Two Indians Talking won the Rogers Peoples Choice Award at the 2010 Vancouver International Film Festival and landed him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 2010 American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco. The young rising star took home the award for Best Actor at the 2010 Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival and has just recently been nominated for a Leo Award for his leading performance.

Northern Fancon happens at CN Centre on May 8 to 10. Personal appearances will be made by such stars as William Shatner (Star Trek's Captain Kirk), Tia Carrere (Wayne's World, Relic Hunter), Isaiah Mustafa (the Old Spice Guy), Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica, Teen Wolf), John De Lancie (he played Q on Star Trek), Jewel Staite (Firefly/Serenity, Flash Forward) and more to be announced.
