Dallas Smith looked to be on the brink of a headlining tour of his own when he was last in Prince George, opening for Keith Urban.

Now Smith is making good on his meteoric country music rise, bringing his solo Side Effects Tour to CN Centre on Nov. 15. When he does, he will be bringing a Prince George performer back home. Local singer-songwriter Jer Breaks is the guitar player in the Dallas Smith posse.

Along with the Dallas Smith show comes some up-and-coming opening acts. Smith is bringing Michael Ray and Lauren Alaina to kick the night off.

Ray is the American heartthrob who scored his first No. 1 hit in 2015 with Kiss You In The Morning. He was the winner of the TV music development show The Next: Fame Is At Your Doorstep, mentored on screen by superstar John Rich. Ray was also a cast member, this year, of the hit television drama Nashville.

Alaina is also known around the world for her television work. She was the runner up in the 2011 season of American Idol and was the star of this summer's movie The Road Less Traveled. That film's soundtrack formed Alaina's latest album (the eponymous single is her first No. 1 single) to go along with her Top 5 debut album Wildflower from 2011.

Smith has been up and down the charts a few different ways. As the lead singer for the mega band Default, he was an international star in the rock world, then shifted gears to the country genre. His trademark clean power-vocals shot him right back to the top with tracks like Autograph, Tippin' Point, Wastin' Gas, Sky Stays This Blue and the title track off the latest album Side Effects.

Smith has been in the running for most major hardware in the Canadian country music world.

He has been the big winner at the B.C. Country Music Association awards night, the Canadian Country Music Awards, the SiriusXM Indie Awards, Canadian Music Week Radio Awards, and he has gone home with the coveted Juno Award as both a member of Default and for his solo country material (five nominations and two wins, overall).

Tickets to see Ray, Alaina and headliner Dallas Smith go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
