Legendary Worlds is the second adult colouring book by Witek Radomski and Carrie Wong.

The colouring book with Prince George roots will soon have a twin.

Local artist Witek Radomski and his partner (in life, business and art) Carrie Wong are working on a follow-up to the hit title Legendary Landscapes, the advanced-level colouring book that whooshed off the shelves of London Drugs (the first retailer to carry the book) and other participating stores.

The two artrepreneurs successfully crowd-sourced the funding for the first book and they are well underway with a similar campaign for the second effort. The sequel's working title is Legendary Worlds.

"Legendary Worlds will dive deeper into the imaginary artwork we experimented with in the first book - there will still be a good collection of Canadian scenes from the west to east coast, but we are really going all-out with artwork depicting fantastic otherworldly scenes from our minds. There will be over 85 illustrations again."

The first project sold out before the Christmas rush happened, leaving the couple with only enough copies to ration out to the most persistent of friends and families until the second printing arrived in January and that, too, sold briskly.

"It was insane," said Radomski, calling it "an interesting problem" for a small art-based business to have.

The response has been so strong to Legendary Landscapes that the couple now has a fan base.

It has prompted a national tour this spring-summer on which they will stop in cities across Canada to do book signing appearances. They are trying to establish Prince George dates for this that coincide with their wedding plans.

The book also inspired a public art event in their current home base in the Lower Mainland. The couple got invited to open a wall-sized colouring mural on Family Day at the ArtStarts Gallery in Vancouver.

"It's positioned right beside the sidewalk in downtown, and there are baskets filled with markers donated by a local art store here," Radomski said. "The kids and public flocked to it and we had a blast seeing everyone from four years old to adults and the elderly have a go at colouring it."

The number of Canadian stores selling their books is now in the hundreds. In Prince George they are available so far at London Drugs and Books & Company.
