It's going to be a busy weekend for Anneda, a blues-based artist coming to Prince George this weekend.

Tonight she'll be performing at Shiraz Restaurant, Saturday she's at Nancy O's and then Sunday morning she'll be at the Woof Stock Festival.

Anneda, given name Charlene Birkbeck and formerly known as Char, has been an artist for more than 10 years. She's toured Canada extensively and has performed at The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern and The Opera House, both in Toronto, JUNOfest and the Rifflandia Festival in Victoria.

Anneda's live music is a process in itself where the audience can witness how she builds her unique sound by looping vocals, guitar and keyboards to add texture to her acoustic show.

"My show is sultry, moody type of blues music," said Anneda, who lives in Victoria. "I've been doing the looping for quite a while now with different bands and on my own. It helps to fill things out. It's actually really cool to do lots of layers over top and it gives a different texture to things and also keeps things moving."

Anneda wanted to give back and recently started up Music Unites the World, which took place for the first time on Earth Day on April 22.

"So on each Earth Day, what we do is we sing the same song at the same time no matter what time it is around the world," said Anneda, who also teaches music.

"It's been scientifically proven that you can physically change matter if you get enough people with the same intent. So that's something that will be going on every year."

Check out Anneda's performances at Shiraz tonight at 7, Saturday at Nancy O's at 9 p.m., and Woof Stock Sunday at 10 a.m. For more information visit
