If ya thought this was bad folks, you should see what Gov. Palin was doing to a spurned brother-in-law up in Alaska. Pretty scary if she ends up being a heatbeat away from the button... - D.K. Ross

City Manager, and City Administrators Cavalier

I think the public deserves a full report on the issues, and the costs. We haven't even been told how much the "Kitty Heller Report" cost, the severance package for the forced retirement of Corrigan - and what, if anything it is costing for the other victims.

The cavalier attitude of our city councillors, coupled with the cavalier attitude of the City Manager, Derek Bates, and the Director of RCMP Services, Rob Whitwham, is astounding to me.
They work for the citizens of Prince George! The City of Prince George is not their own private company!

The City of Prince George should be accountable to its citizens. The City of Prince George should be setting an example for private industry employers to follow.

Why are Derek Bates and Rob Whitwham always "not available" when asked to comment? They should have the common decency to return phone calls. They should be proud of all the business decisions they make, and eager to publicly inform the citizens of PG.

The lack of information, and unwillingness to speak about it leads to speculation that they are ashamed of their decisions, and are not able to defend themselves to the public they "serve".

I believe they are more self-serving than pulic servants.

The issue that disturbs me the most, is that the whistleblowers are now out of work. How likely do you think it is that any one else could possibly come forward if they risk losing their job to do so?

This is an excellent position for Chambers/Bailey to be in now isn't it? No-one will dare to question their authority! - icws1

So the City of PG and the RCMP knew of the harassment, bullying and threats, and yet it continued. This tells me that that type of behaviour is accepted and condoned by both the RCMP and the C of PG. And if there are no consequences then that must mean that the RCMP will not follow up on any other of the same complaints from the public. This is good! It will free up a whole lot of cops and maybe they can spend more time fighting organized crime. But aren't there a lot of harassment, bullying, threatening incidents with them? They, too, now know there's no consequences for their actions. That frees up even more cops. Residents of PG must feel very proud to know they have a whole lot of cops out on the street fighting crime. Even though it's not what they want being fought. Congratulations Mayor Kinsley, City Manager, and Counsellors. You have made us proud citizens. Good thing it's election year. Maybe some of you can actually take a stand on the "Whistle Blowing Policy" which states no one will lose their jobs for bringing forward complaints. Maybe you can implement a "Bullying Policy". Maybe, but I doubt it. You are part of the corruption. - sunnysideup
