After reading this thread again, I have to concur with travhops and the question of where the revenue is going. Government accountability is sorely lacking here.

I've been to the casino in Quesnel once, and my stay, although profitable, was a very short one because the noise drove me batscat crazy! Think I'll stick with the movies and music--and buy the odd 6/49 ticket, maybe...I deal with people at work, so the sound system is a welcome friend when I get home. - allniter

I wouldn’t be saying these things if I didn’t have it. It’s not B.S and I wouldn’t be libeling myself if I didn’t have the proof.

BC Lottery knows that and that’s why they will always choose to duck and hide.

One BC Lottery president already went down in flames because of corruption within. Mind you, it was with a nice hefty pocketful full of loot to boot.

It’s obvious you don’t frequent the casinos because the price of a movie will get you about 2 minutes of slot play, if you play them. Take my word for it, better stick to the movies.

Yes, as you say, Casinos and Gaming Centres are For-Profit business, whether I like it or not is not the point. I don’t like to see corruption get a free ride.

The point is they are a business not a free entertainment facility. Do you actually believe people willing give up their hard earned dollars without a belief there is a chance they may win at gambling? That they always expect to lose because they know that their chance of winning is not what is claimed?

Life is a gamble, the stock market is a gamble. Gambling and corrution has been around almost as long as mankind has.

If you play the shell game with the ball under one of the shells, you would expect to have a one in three chance of picking the right shell. If I was to sneak the ball out of the game on you, you wouldn’t have a chance of winning, and then I said to you, it was entertainment for you! You wouldn’t be a happy camper about that, now would you?

As for bird brains and why they learn like babies, you can solve that mystery yourself, but if you care to debate this issue I’ll be glad to. Believe me I know the business.

If you are really care and are interested in knowing more, you can start with R.N.G., seed value, Casino Link, algorithms and then get back to me.

Sojurn, do you have any proof, or even conjecture, as to how the BCLC is defrauding citizens? It's certainly something to just say that they are committing crimes... but reasonable people would just call that something BS unless you try and give some kind of substance to your claims.

Look, Casinos and Gaming Centres are For-Profit business - if you don't like the fact that they are making money then don't grace them with your dollar. Simple. Nobody has every claimed that a casino is a reliable investment, that is why they are entertainment. If I go to a casino, I'll bring the amount of money that I want to spend to enjoy myself - losing that money is the same as spending it for a nice dinner or a movie - if I happen to win some money on top of it? Yay! Now I have some extra cash to spend on some other entertainment.

Interesting fact: Bird brains are actually really smart - they are one of the only animals that are similar to humans in how we talk. Turns out birds learn songs like how babies learn to talk... there are even song birds that stutter :P - Wolvan

The Liberal government has given the BC Lottery Corporation carte blanche to defraud the people to fill its coffers.

BC Lottery corp. has resorted to unconscionable acts and is out right defrauding the citizens of this province.

But then what can you expect from the Liberals and the likes of Campbell, Coleman, Bell. It fits like a hand in a glove.

In the US the govt is the watchdog over gambling venues, here in BC, the govt runs the and owns the slot machines etc. What they are letting the Lotto corp get away with is punishable crimes according to our laws.

Can you believe-all those millions gone into the Government coffers voluntatily. All that "PURCHASING POWER" gone. How stupid and gullible is the public?
Casinos are not there to make the average person wealthy. They support the owner, who probably gets 15% of the net, and the Gov't rakes in the balance. When you complain about paying taxes, think of the money given freely to the Governments--oh yes--as the Civic gov't gets a healthy cut. Check that out when the distribution becomes public knowledge.
It is amazing what the public falls for-and they call casinos a form of entertainment.
Hope you are entertained when you get hooked and can't pay your bills. You should have known they would be a cash cow if the Government was involved-another big money making scheme, and the people go part with their paycheques willingly.
Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!! Sound familiar? - yeahrite

The majority of gaming money goes to the Lottery Corporation, hence the province. When gaming started in BC it was said the money would be for health care and education. So where is it going?
