WAYNE (MELVIN) HUBBELL It is
WAYNE (MELVIN) HUBBELL It is with broken hearts that the family of Wayne Hubbell announce his passing on July 16, 2008 at the age of 51. Wayne died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He fought his battle with cancer the way he lived his life - with incredible strength and determination. Wayne is predeceased by his father and mother: Melvin and Bertha Hubbell and nephew: Aaron Helgeson. He is survived by his adoring family - wife: Rebecca; children: Ashley, Bryce & Caleb Hubbell; step-children: Asia & Dylan Jones; grandchildren: Ayden & Mackenzie Hubbell; sisters Myrna (Ken) Helgeson, Darlene (Bob) Ocrane; brother: Ken (Diann) North; nephews: Adam & Darrell Ocrane and Kenneth North; nieces: Kim (Tim) Robinson, Janelle Ocrane & Joy Coones and his beloved dogs Hunter & Bosco. Born in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan on May 13, 1957, Wayne grew up in Saskatchewan where he held a variety of jobs until he found his true calling in police work. He served with the Fort Frances Police & Prince Albert City Police from 1980 - 1992. He then joined the RCMP in 1993. His first posting was Prince George, where he served his entire career as a Mountie with honour. In his police work, as in all aspects of his life, Wayne conducted himself with integrity, commitment and selflessness. He was never more proud than when wearing his Serge. Wayne's strong sense of morals and values caused him to seek justice in all respects of his life. He will always be remembered for the love he had for his family and many friends and his passion for the CFL - Go Riders! We know that he is watching over all those he loved and that he will be there to welcome us with open arms when our time on this earth is done. We are deeply greatful to Dr. Edgar Turski and the homecare nurses and aides for their compassion and exceptional care. Memorial services to celebrate Wayne's life will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Assman's Funeral Chapel. Visitation for family and friends 11:00am - 12:30pm, funeral services from 1:00 - 2:00pm, reception following at the Legion begining at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Cops for Cancer would greatly be appreciated.

Messmer May 17, 1921 - July 12, 2008 Herbert (Herb) Ernest Joseph Messmer passed away at 87 years of age. He left this world peacefully, after a lengthy illness that he valiantly fought for over a year. Herb chose a beautiful sunny morning to set his struggles aside and begin a new journey. We will miss him dearly but we could never wish that he suffer any longer. He leaves to celebrate his life, his dear wife Irene to whom he had been married for 60 years, and his daughter Marion (Gerry) Healey-Ogden of Kamloops, grandchildren Kyle of Langley and Angela of Vancouver. brother Earl (Marie) Messmer of Kamloops and sister Bea Henderson of Kelowna, sister-in-law Esther Anderson of Kamloops and Randi Olson of Brockville, Ontario, numerous nephews, nieces and their children in BC, Alberta, and Ontario, and numerous cousins and their families in BC, Alberta, and Ohio. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Victor, sisters-in-law Elaine and Norma, and brothers-in-law Roy, Anton, Lloyd, and Wally. Herb was born in Barrhead, Alberta to Ernest and Teresa Messmer, then moved with his family to Prince George. While in his 20's and during WW II, he helped build the runway at the Prince George airport and, after the war, was in the logging industry. Herb met Irene in Prince George and they married in Kamloops. Herb worked for the town of North Kamloops for many years. Eventually, he and his brothers owned and operated Kamloops West End Motors, Metro Sand and Gravel, and Tri Lake Readi Mix. Herb always had a passion for anything to do with mining. He loved to fish and spent many hours changing lures to catch the 'big one." They lived on the shores of the Shuswap Lake in Chase for 11 years, moving back to Kamloops in 1992. Herb's strength of character and strong work ethic were always evident. He showed his love for his family in whatever he did. He was a proud and determined gentleman who would do anything in his power to help others. A celebration of Herb's life will be held at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 815 Renfrew Avenue on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 2:00 PM, Pastor Terry Sauder officiating. A sincere thank-you to Dr. Shumacher who attended to Herb for many years, and to Drs. Collier and Brownlee for their special attention. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Kamloops Seniors Village (KSV) who compassionately cared for Herb's needs and supported Herb's family over the past 9 months. Thank-you, too, to Colin, Herb's neighbour at KSV, who looked out for Herb and always offered words of comfort and support. ERNEST (ERNIE) R. SCHULTZ
1918 - 2008
Ernest (Ernie) R. Schultz passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta on July 14, 2008 at the age of 90 years. Errnie was born on May 6, 1918 and was the third of seven children born to Rudolf and Adolina Schultz. He grew up on a farm in the Schultz District west of Bashaw. Ernie leaves his wife Audrey; daughter Sharon and Tom Vant of Millet, Alberta and their four children Ted, Lisa, Tim and Libby; son Jack and Susan Schultz of Westbank, B.C. and their two children Travis and Julie; daughter Joan and Tom Sydness of Edmonton and their two children Sarah and Kris; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Rita (Mrs. Bill Schultz), Martha (Mrs. Erwin Schultz) and Mary (Mrs. Herman Schultz); brother-in-law Clifford Bowman and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his dear sisters Martha Israelson and Tina Bowman, and brothers William (Bill), Erwin, Alfred (Freddie) and Herman. Ernie attended the Schultz District School and then boarded with relatives in Bashaw to attend High School. After graduation he enrolled in McTavish Business College in Edmonton. On February 25, 1941 Ernie married his best friend Audrey Lees, whose father was an Alberta Provincial Police Officer in Bashaw, and then began a career at Edmonton Motors. In 1955 he accepted a management position with Hood Motors which later became Don Wheaton Ltd. In 1968 Ernie obtained the Pontiac - Buick - GMC franchise in Prince George, B.C. and was active until 1985 when he retired and turned the dealership over to his son Jack. In 1988 Ernie and Audrey returned to Edmonton and built a new home where they lived until 2003. They then moved into a retirement condominium until a year ago when they entered into assisted living and long term care. Ernie was always an avid gardener and in his later years took special pride in his lilies. He was also quite a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking and building outdoor furniture. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family and took great interest in antique farm equipment and, of course, vintage automobiles. Ernie was known for his generosity, easy smile and grand sense of humor. Ernie's abiding faith sustained him in his later years. He will be dearly missed. A Funeral Service will be held at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 35 kms east of Ponoka on Highway 53 on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Larry Soveran officiating. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the St. Peter's Cemetery Fund or to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Bashaw, Alberta.

Rev. John Wilmer Fast passed away peacefully on July 12th, 2008 at the age of 84 at Prince George Regional Hospital. Survived by his loving wife Kay, daughters Diane (Mo) of Vancouver, Sharon (Bob) of Kitimat, Janice (Morry) of Prince George, sons Frank (Wendy) of Lake Country, Wayne (Charlene) of Massett, Michael of Toronto, 12 grandchildren Tanya (Juan Carlos), Lorelle (Blaine), Andrea (Jon), Jessica, Trevor, Isabeau (Raul), Monica, James, Kayla, Santanna, Paige, Alexander, 7 great grandchildren Reilly, Gage, Aidan, Logan, Alex, Loic, Nayeli, sister Verna (Bill) of Sequim, WA, brother Bob (Lola) of Abbotsford. Predeceased by father, mother, 3 sisters and 8 brothers. John was born in Rosthern, Saskatchewan on October 10th, 1923 and moved with his family to a farm in the Fraser Valley in 1936. He met Kay in Port Alberni while serving in the Canadian Forces, and they were married October 21, 1944. He went into the Ministry in 1958 and was ordained in the United Church in 1961. He served as a minister in several communities in Alberta and BC. He retired to Terrace and Keremeos (where he and Kay lived for 18 years) before moving to Prince George in 2006. In Keremeos he took up the violin again and joined the bands that played at the weekly dances in Keremeos and Oliver. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's when almost 80 but that never stopped his enthusiasm for looking at new ways of life and living. A reception will follow in the church hall.

Bob arrived in Prince George in 1955 to open the Probation Branch in the North, and retired in 1984. KELLER - On July 8th 2008, Joan Louise Keller, our beloved Mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed into the loving arms of Jesus, her Lord and Saviour and reunited with Dad who passed in 1999. She is survived by her children Colleen (Bob) Gowans, Karey (Felecia) Keller, Susan (Drew) Miller, Sheila (Jody) Bridge, Brigette (Colin) McMaster, 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, her sister Myrna (Stan) McLeod and her brother Bruce McDonald. All who knew Mom, knew her to be a very positive and upbeat person who saw the good in everyone. Mom's greatest joy was her very large extended family, her Lord and her Church. How we will all miss her outrageous laughter. Mom died peacefully surrounded by her family in her own home on Campbell Range. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful care Mom received at R.I.H. Cancer Clinic. ALLAN FULLJAMES It is with great sadness that we announce that Allan passed away peacefully Sunday, July 13, 2008. Allan was born June 17, 1934 in Vancouver, BC, but lived in Northern BC. He spent most of his life working in the Construction Industry beginning at an early age working with his father. In 1982 he took over as president/owner of Ex-cel Acoustics Ltd. and eventually retired in 1992, when his sons took over in Partnership. Allan will be remembered for his clever wit, sense of humor, strong family values, commanding presence and enjoyed a good debate. His hobbies included woodwork, reading, model railroading and of course his beloved BC Lions! Allan will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Gloria; sons Michael, Steven (Sandra), Terry (Kim), Guy (Erin); daughters Jennifer (Tracy) and Carolyn (Mike); also 15 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. J.G. Wilson, whose commitment went "above and beyond" and to Dr. G. Knoll for his ongoing care, as well as the staff at the Neudorf Denturist Clinic and paramedics for their efforts in reviving Allan, resulting in his family spending another two precious days with him. A Celebration of Life will take place Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Columbus Community Centre, 7201 Domano Blvd, from 1:30pm - 4:00pm. Cremation will take place at a later date. On Thursday, July 10, 2008 our mother, Marie Lily Moliere at the age of 86, born May 8, 1922 left the earth the way she entered it with surprising speed. She left behind some very shocked people including her daughters: Lily (Roger) Bachand and Emily, her two grandsons: Jason and Grant. Also her extended family of daughters which includes: Gloria (Ray) Bachand, Henrietta Bratton, Jeannie (Alan) St. Croix, Leonie (Ben) Burnstad and Marion (Eugene) Bachand. Lily and Emily want to have a tea for their Mum on July 26, 2008 at their home at 11365 Harold Drive, Prince George to thank the people that came into her life. First we will take her on one last road trip back to Calgary where she wanted to rest her body. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 10:00am where we will say our last goodbyes to a woman who always knew that God's house is where she wanted to be and where she finally is with tea in hand. CARTER - Clifford Allen (Retired RCMP Cpl.) passed away peacefully in Nanaimo B.C. on Monday, July 7th, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Cliff was born in Woodstock, N.B. March 29th, 1949 and from there embarked on a fulfilling career with the RCMP. Cliff's life with the RCMP allowed him to call many places home from Newfoundland to British Columbia. Cliff touched the hearts of many, and has left a trail coast to coast of fond memories that will forever warm the hearts of friends and loved ones. Cliff will be sadly missed by all.
