If getting married is on the to-do list for the next year or two, winning a free honeymoon, finding your dream dress, and taste testing wedding treats might be a priority.
With that in mind, head to to the 23rd annual Sweetheart Bridal Show Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Prince George Civic Centre.
This glamourous show is presented by the Prince George Citizen and features a high-end fashion show focusing on the love stories of the silent movie era.
Judy Russell's Enchainement Studio has produced the portion of the show featuring Image in White gowns where models rock glam hairdos and makeup harkening back to the 20s, 30s and 40s.
"Laurie Heagy and Nicole Russell are project assistants who are producing vignettes because we're doing Great Gatsby and Bonnie & Clyde themes," said Russell. "The fashion show will feature music from the era."
Hair and makeup artistry will be provided by Trendsetters Hair Studio and Day Spa.
During the show, brides will see the premiere of a special stiletto dance-fit feature, introducing a new exercise-dance class called stiletto fit at Enchainement dance studio.
"The fashion shows are very strategic in showcasing all body types and the audience can expect to be wowed by the routines that Judy Russell's Enchainement Studio has put together for the show," said Norm Coyne, promotions executive at the Prince George Citizen.
The Gallery Bridal Boutique on Seventh will feature past clients to highlight how every woman's wedding dreams really do come true.
Brides-to-be can check out custom-designed wedding bands from Ken's Goldsmithing.
“A wedding is a very special moment in a couple's life and sharing that experience at the show is very rewarding,” said Curtis Mcleod, manager at Ken’s Goldsmithing.
One of the many prizes up for grabs is a wedding band package where the bride and groom can provide input for exactly what they want, offering one-of-kind rings.
The other prizes available to be won include a one week stay in an oceanside Maui condo, a trip to Mexico or Hawaii, a furniture suite, and floral arrangements.
There are interactive workshops for cake decorating, a showcase including musicians, skin care and tasting from a variety of local vendors to make your day special.
"Each year, we review the show to see how we can improve it," said Coyne. "We want the brides to walk away with as many tools as possible to make their special day unique and I feel we've done it with this show."
