    Most actively traded companies on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange markets

    TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

    Toronto Stock Exchange (12,397.10, up 16.41 points):

    Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up 19 cents, or 1.87 per cent, at $10.36 on 10,864,736 shares.

    Mitec Telecom Inc. (TSX:MTM). Telecommunications. Up two cents, or 400 per cent, at 2.5 cents on 8,336,050 shares.

    Carpathian Gold Inc. (TSX:CPN). Miner. Up 2.5 cents, or 5.43 per cent, at 48.5 on 6,508,199 shares.

    Grande Cache Coal Corp. (TSX:GCE). Miner. Down 14 cents, or 1.50 per cent, at $9.21 on 6,291,492 shares.

    Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Down one cent, or 0.22 per cent, at $4.49 on 5,628,280 shares.

    Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX:TXG). Up 14 cents, or 7.18 per cent, at $2.09 on 5,499,805 shares.

    TSX Venture Exchange (1,571.34, up 17.13 points):

    Calibre Mining Corp. (TSXV:CXB). Miner. Up 19 cents, or 102 per cent, at 37.5 cents on 25,066,874 shares.

    CardioComm Solutions, Inc. (TSXV:EKG). Health care. Up nine cents, or 225 per cent, at 13 cents on 11,033,667 shares.

    Companies reporting major news:

    Canadian Pacific Railway (TSX:CP). Railway. Down $1.04 or 1.4 per cent to $71.56 with 606,965 traded. CP CEO Fred Green said Friday some of the railway's biggest customers believe the company is on track, despite complaints and a demand for change at the top from some of the rail carrier's biggest shareholders.

    Mega Brands Inc. (TSX:MB). Toymaker. Up 43 cents, or 5.48 per cent, at $8.28 on 37,642 shares. The company said Friday it has dropped its legal action against rival Lego. The move comes after the U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed that it won't block imports of Mega Brands products into the United States.
