Mexican marines arrest 7 alleged gunmen in massacre of 72 migrants

MEXICO CITY - A government spokesman says Mexican marines have arrested seven gunmen suspected of participating in the massacre of 72 Central and South American migrants near the U.S. border.

Alejandro Poire says four of the suspects were arrested after a Sept. 3 shootout with marines. The other three were arrested later.

He says the investigators believe the migrants were killed because they refused to work for the Zetas drug gang.
