'Tis the season for the Prince George Symphony Orchestra to take to the musical stage once again at Vanier Hall Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Conductor Kevin Zakesky will lead the musicians into the opening program Mozart & More.
Laszlo Klein, local horn virtuoso, will perform the main piece, Mozart's Horn Concerto in E-flat major. Concertmaster Jos Delgado-Guevara will be featured in Autumn from Vivaldi's always popular Four Seasons and Mozart's contemporary C.W. Gluck will showcase the flute.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Benjamin Britten, theres the Simple Symphony, an uplifting composition for strings based on tunes the composer wrote when he was a boy.
Mozart & More ends with an encore of a performance held in the summer, with the L'heidli T'enneh Khas'tan Drummers as special guests.
There is a pre-concert chat about the concert at 6:45 p.m.
Season subscriptions to the symphony programs are available at the PGSO Office or during intermission. Tickets for Mozart & More are $30 for adults, $23 for seniors and $15 for students at the PGSO office or at the door.
