With winter approaching the Northern Edge Snowboard club is on the hunt for new coaches to teach its young shredders.
The club is looking for experienced coaches or individuals with some knowledge of the sport who are willing to put in the time to educate athletes between eight and 16 that already know the basics of stopping, turning and ride lifts. A coach's main objective should be to help the athlete improve their snowboarding skills and achieve their personnel objectives.
Northern Edge serves snowboarders in the Prince George and Mackenzie area and hosts the annual Shred the North series, a number of competitions for boarders to test themselves against other riders.
In addition to coaches, they're also looking for volunteers and officials to train leading up to the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George. The sport committee for the 2015 snowboarding is looking for 130 minor officials to help out during the Games.
