Prince George RCMP are looking for a woman in connection with a fraud investigation that has affected several businesses in and around the city.
On Aug. 24, the Prince George Integrated Road Safety Unit stopped a vehicle for a Motor Vehicle offence. As a result of this stop, police discovered a significant amount of property in the vehicle that had been fraudulently obtained, through - as the investigation uncovered - false purchase order invoices.
Two women and one man were arrested, with another woman still at large. She is described as Caucasian, in her mid 30s with curly dark brown hair worn in a short ponytail and has green eyes.
The woman, who police believe is in the Prince George area, was last seen wearing a black hoodie, light green T-shirt and blue jeans.
According to the RCMP, it is believed this woman may try to purchase mid- to high-end electronic items through purchase orders.
"If your business accepts purchase orders, be aware of invoices numbered 698160 to 698170," said Prince George Regional Traffic Services spokesperson Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.
Anyone who encounters this series of receipts or suspects their business has been a victim of this fraud is asked to contact the RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers.
