BC Northern Exhibition runs until Sunday at 5 p.m. at the exhibition grounds by CN Centre. This is the longest running family fair in the region and it's back for its 101st year with everything from barrel racing, to pancake breakfasts, to live bands and a full midway. Jasper Sloan Yip at Art Space, above Books & Co. Aug. 13 at 8 p.m.
Set to release his third album Foxtrot, Yip is a self-taught musician. He will be performing at Art Space for the first time, along with special guest Skye Wallace. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
Exhibit 365, a relationship with cancer, is Cat Sivertsen's display of art at Storefront Studio, 1144 Fourth Avenue. The exhibit can be seen until August 10, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon until 6 p.m.
The Prince George Public Library, 887 Dominion Street, offers guided walking tours of the historic downtown. Public art, Interesting features and notable buildings will be featured along the way. Tall tales about quirky residents will be told of days gone by in the heart of the city. The Little Prince Steam Train is back for another season at Fort George Park. The train runs weekends from noon to 4 p.m. The 24-inch gauge train runs a half mile loop next door to Exploration Museum. Cost is $2 per person. For more information call 250-562-1612.
